Welcome to the online home of DNA Play. Based in Hertford, we’re playground design specialists that build beautiful natural playgrounds all across the UK, with a focus on the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire areas. However, we’ve also taken on projects overseas.
Formed back in 2010, we’ve built a fantastic reputation amongst nurseries, schools, councils and private sector clients. Our exciting, creative, eco-friendly playgrounds are populated with truly bespoke, one of a kind pieces of school playground equipment. If you’re looking to create a space that will not only be a joy to play in, but actively assist in children’s development, DNA Play can help… To name just a few of the areas in which we’ve built natural playgrounds:
• St Albans
• Welwyn Garden City
• Bishops Stortford
• Hemel Hempstead
Our team includes some of the UK’s leading playground design experts, as well as builders and artists who all play a key role in delivering the final concept. Before we get to the building stage, however, we conduct a thorough consultation in which we explore all the ideas that stakeholders, whether they be teachers, council members, developers or the children themselves, want to bring to the table. This ensures that the final playground design is a successful one, featuring school playground equipment (e.g climbing frames or towers) that proves popular.
There are few companies that focus on creating eco-friendly playgrounds out of recyclable materials, like ours. In the past, we’ve used locally fallen trees, eucalyptus and railway sleepers to surround our bespoke school playground equipment, and create a truly harmonious playscape. Our ever-creative approach to our work allows for limitless possibilities, and we can incorporate everything from paths, shelters, benches and stages – to more traditional playground equipment, like climbing frames.
We have 20 years’ experience within the playground design industry, and offer a full service from conception through to construction, and even any future maintenance that our natural playgrounds might require. DNA Play holds public liability insurance and product liability insurance policies, is Safe Contractor registered, and offers 12 month guarantees on all our school playground equipment (including climbing frames) if you choose us to provide any ongoing maintenance. Our team are highly qualified, with our director holding masters degrees (MSc and BSc) in Environmental Protection.
Should you wish to sound us out and find out just how affordable our playground design and build services are, we urge you to contact us for a free estimate. We have an extensive list of references, situated from Watford to Welwyn Garden City, Hemel Hempstead to Hoddesdon, Stevenage to St Albans. They can each attest to the quality of not just our playground design and construction of natural playgrounds, but the level of customer service we offer.
As our directors work hands-on with each and every project taken aboard, we can guarantee our project management will be top notch. It’s our aim to always deliver natural playgrounds on schedule and within budget, whether it’s a small scale job in Cheshunt or Hoddesdon, or a sprawling project in Bishops Stortford or Hemel Hempstead featuring a vast amount of school playground equipment – from climbing frames to adventure trails. We have the experience and manpower to take on projects of all sizes; we recently finished a 2.9m Euro project in Azerbaijan, for the European Azerbaijan School in Baku. DNA Play also has a great track record working with disability schools to create accessibility focused, yet still exciting natural playgrounds.
